Collection from our London shops is free - choose Shop Collection at checkout.

Select your preferred delivery date at checkout. As we use third party couriers (typically DPD) we cannot guarantee the arrival day of your order but we will do our best to ensure that it arrives as close as possible to your chosen date. To be sure it arrives in time, we suggest choosing a date a couple of days ahead of when you would like to eat your cheese.

If you have ordered a cheese subscription, your second and subsequent deliveries will occur approximately 30 days after your first delivery date.

This month's selection contains the three delicious cheeses listed below and weighs a minimum of 785g.

A vivid and pungent washed-rind cheese from King Stone Dairy, with a sticky rind giving way to a buttery breakdown and a firm, curdy centre. Flavours are bright and yoghurty at the core, and become more pungent with hints of peanut and even bacon underneath the dusky orange rind.

Keen's Cheddar

milk type

Animal Rennet

milk treatment

A traditional farmhouse Cheddar characterised by a densely rich and creamy texture, and layers of flavour that can range from savoury and mustardy to juicy and bright, with a pleasing tang of acidity.

Clothbound with lard.

Kirkham's Lancashire

milk type

Animal Rennet

milk treatment

Best known for its inimitable crumbly-yet-creamy texture – a texture the Kirkham family call ‘buttery crumble’ – this raw milk farmhouse Lancashire boasts a bright, full flavour finished off by a light, yoghurty tang.

Can I buy it as a gift?

Yes, we think it would make a wonderful gift! Customers often opt for the pre-pay options when giving the subscription as a gift - this allows you to pay in full and upfront for either a three month or six month subscription. See above for a downloadable gift certificate.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Our cheesemakers make cheese to order for the Neal's Yard Dairy Subscription and, as such, subscriptions cannot be cancelled until after your first three deliveries. Following this, rolling subscriptions may be cancelled provided notice is given at least one week prior to your next delivery. Please contact us for further information.

How do the payments work?

The Neal's Yard Dairy Subscription costs £28.50 per month. Your first subscription payment will be taken when you buy the subscription on our website and your first delivery will be on the date that you select at checkout. Your second payment and delivery will be approximately one month after the first delivery. Subsequent payments and deliveries will continue monthly from then on.

how much cheese to buy?

As a general rule of thumb, we would recommend roughly between 100 and 150 grams per person for after dinner, and a bit more if cheese is the focus of the meal. If you are buying cheese to serve over a couple of days or as part of a buffet, it is advisable to buy a few larger pieces. This will both look better and keep better than many small bits. To help visualise weights, a good tip is to consider that a regular supermarket pat of butter weighs between 200 and 250 grams. If you are at all unsure please give us a call for some advice.

how should i store my cheese?

The best option is to keep your cheese wrapped in its paper within a box in the fridge. This will prevent the cheese from drying out and absorbing other flavours. Your cheese will arrive wrapped in waxed cheese paper, which achieves the best possible balance between maintaining humidity around the cheese and allowing it to breathe. We are happy to provide some free extra cheese paper, just search for "cheese paper" and add it to your basket. We don't recommend cling film or foil as it can cause the cheese to sweat which will negatively affect the flavour.

When will I receive my cheese?

Choose your delivery date at checkout and we will be in touch to let you know when we are preparing your order for dispatch. In addition our courier will contact you on the day of delivery with a one hour window slot. Please do not choose the redelivery option as your order will already have been picked up by the couriers and will remain in transit for an extended period. More information relating to courier deliveries can be found here. Your subsequent box will arrive approximately one month after the first, with each box arriving on a monthly basis thereafter. For example, if you receive your first box towards the end of July, your following boxes will arrive towards the end of each month going forward. Please let us know if you are planning to be away - we're always happy to deliver either side of those dates. For more information please see our Delivery & Returns page
