A Children’s Introduction to Farmhouse Cheese
July 27 at 11:00 - 12:30£30
In this class Miranda will introduce the children to a selection of British Farmhouse cheeses. She will guide the children through the different styles of cheese so they understand the variety that farmhouse cheese offers. Touching on how cheese is made, the main focus of the class will be activities to help the children become confident in describing the sensory differences between cheeses: touch, taste, smell and look. They should finish the session knowing that cheese is an ever changing and dynamic food that takes many forms.
The tasting is designed to serve as a light meal and includes a cheese plate of 6 cheeses as well as bread, crackers and accompaniments. Apple juice and water will be served. The children will be able to select a slice of their favourite cheese from the tasting to take home and share with their family. The session will run from 11.00 to 12.30. The class is designed to appeal to children aged 6 -11. It is not a drop-off session, parents or carers must stay with the children. Adults do not need to buy a ticket we will assume 1 adult will attend per booking. If you need more information or wish to discuss the booking please call us on 0207 500 7575.
