We taste cheese and talk about cheese a lot. It’s at the heart of what we do.
While the tasting and talking is common to all of us, there are all sorts of different jobs involved in working with us to select, mature, sell and ship cheese that you might not expect. From brushing, washing and turning cheeses in our maturing rooms, to selecting and packing the best cheese for a certain customer, through sourcing the best logistical solutions to get our cheese from a to b in the best possible conditions, each part of the process needs an expert.
To help us become experts we run our business using Open Book Management. This means everyone working with us has access to the numbers, and is invited to play a part in making a difference from our bottom line upwards.
Whether that means tracking our bread wastage, or coming up with a plan to sell yet more British farmhouse cheese to France, our weekly team meetings aim to provide an opportunity for everyone to get involved and make a difference. Our regular company-wide meetings also provide a forum to share these ideas, gains and successes.
We have a strong sense of team. At our maturing site and main office we make sure we take the time to sit down together each day for lunch. We take turns cooking for each other most days using our weekly fresh fruit and veg delivery and of course a good serving of cheese and other dairy goodness. Our shops also receive a weekly fruit and veg delivery, and while a communal sit down isn’t possible while we’re open for business, we actively encourage everybody working with us to lunch on all the good things we sell. We also have great tea and coffee on tap throughout the business to keep us lively!
Our jobs page will show any roles we are currently actively recruiting for, but don’t be shy about getting in touch if what you’re looking for isn’t listed. If you love cheese, and you’re interested in working with us, we want to hear from you.
