Cheese of the Month Tasting: 20th October

Join cheesemonger Caitrin at 7pm on Wednesday 20th October for a live, online guided tour of our October Cheese of the Month selection. During this informal and interactive tasting we will explore the different styles, techniques, and stories behind each cheese, and how to enjoy them to their fullest.

You will receive generous helpings of four different cheeses (enough for at least 4-5 people to enjoy together) and free delivery to addresses within mainland UK.

At checkout, please choose a preferred delivery date on or before 19th October.

The live tasting will be hosted on Crowdcast. Please be sure to register your attendance by clicking the link below and providing your contact email address. All communication prior to the event (reminders, fact sheets, and the link to the tasting on the evening) will only be sent by email to those registered on this page. No purchase is required to attend the discussion.

Delivery Information

Standard delivery is free to most postcodes in the UK for orders over £29.50. Click here for a list of postcodes where additional delivery charges apply.

Collection from our London shops is free - choose Shop Collection at checkout.

Select your preferred delivery date at checkout. As we use third party couriers (typically DPD) we cannot guarantee the arrival day of your order but we will do our best to ensure that it arrives as close as possible to your chosen date. To be sure it arrives in time, we suggest choosing a date a couple of days ahead of when you would like to eat your cheese.

If you have ordered a cheese subscription, your second and subsequent deliveries will occur approximately 30 days after your first delivery date.

Frequently we have limited quantities of new or experimental cheeses which we introduce to our customers through this selection. This makes the selection a good choice if you want to keep up to date with the latest developments in British cheese making.

Baron Bigod

Cow

Animal Rennet

Raw

Silky at its rind but crumbly at its core, this Suffolk-born, traditional Brie-style cheese balances a clean lactic brightness with mushroomy, vegetal notes.

Keen's Cheddar

Animal Rennet

Raw

A traditional farmhouse Cheddar characterised by a densely rich and creamy texture, and layers of flavour that can range from savoury and mustardy to juicy and bright, with a pleasing tang of acidity.

Clothbound with lard.

Lucky Dip Cheese

Any

As we work with a handmade, highly variable product, often we are left with slightly underweight pieces of cheese when cutting to order for our online and wholesale customers. Typically these little pieces are diverted to our shops to be sold there, as they are perfectly delicious! At the moment with limited footfall to our shops, we have more undercut cheese than we can sell.

The piece of cheese you receive could be anything from our range. As such you need to be rather open minded and a true cheese lover.

Minimum: 100g.

Mature Sparkenhoe Red Leicester

milk type
Cow

coagulant
Animal Rennet

milk treatment
Raw

A more mature, meatier version of Sparkenhoe Red Leicester, selected by us and aged for up to 12 months in total, creating richly savoury, brothy flavours and a texture that is crunchier and more crystalline than elastic.

Clothbound with lard.

Ticklemore

milk type
Goat

coagulant
Vegetarian Coagulant

milk treatment
Pasteurised

A goat’s milk cheese that doesn’t taste remotely ‘goaty’, the Ticklemore combines light and gently lemony flavours with herbaceous notes that deepen with age, and reveals a firm, chalky texture beneath its stark white rind.
