Island Bakery organic oatcakes are made by Joe & Dawn Reade in Tobermory, Isle of Mull. The perfect platform on which to balance a chunk of cheese, a portion of pate, or a sliver of smoked salmon, the whole oats, oatmeal and extra virgin olive oil make for a versatile and nourishing oatcake, slowly baked with care in unique wood fired ovens. The new premises were completed in June 2012, and are powered by local renewable energy – wind and water for electricity, and wood for heating the ovens.

Best Oatcakes

One of the mongers told me these are going to be discontinued by the producer? Is that true? I really hope not - these are the best and they’re made with olive oil rather than palm!

Bought as part of a gift, excellent!

A pleasant fruity aroma and firm texture lead to a satisfying crunch; full flavour of oat and a little sweetness of the olive oil. Less buttery or wheaty than other oat cakes. Very nice!
