The Cheesemonger's Selection

7:30-9:00 pm.

For this cheese class we invite you to join us in our Borough Market shop after hours. The session will involve tasting different profiles of cheese from the really young and fresh up to some of our most mature cheeses, touching on the different styles, milks and techniques involved in making them.

Along the way our cheesemongers will guide you in what to consider when selecting cheese and how to curate the perfect cheeseboard for you. You'll be given a tasting sheet with room to make notes and at the end of the session there will be the opportunity to buy cheese from the evening's selection to take home.

This tasting will include samples of 9 cheeses, a cheese plate of 3 cheeses with bread or crackers and accompaniments. There will be samples of 3 beverages provided to give you a beginner's insight into pairing cheese with beer and wine. As alcohol is served, all attendees must be over 18 years of age. This is a standing event in our shop after hours. The temperature in our shop is on average 16oC, to ensure your comfort, you may wish to bring an extra layer.

Clementine joined the Neal's Yard Dairy team two years ago and has spent her time working between our shops and our maturation arches. Her work with the maturation team allows her to follow a cheese's journey from its reception to its sale on our slate. Clementine works with both soft and hard cheese and is interested in every stage of the cheeses life: from the grass the dairy animals eat to the wine we drink with our cheeseboard. Clementine studied Ecology, Agriculture and Food Science back home in France. She loves sharing her interests, talking about her work and inspiring others with her passion for the food she loves and its unique methods of production.
