This is a hands-on social event for melted cheese lovers. We will start by tasting through a selection of cheeses representing different styles of traditional British cheese. Your hosts will guide you in what to consider with each cheese when cooking with it. We'll also present you with a fondue recipe and a guide to fondue etiquette, both are tried and tested by our own team of cheesemongers! Then in groups of 4 people, you will make a selection of 2 or 3 cheeses to add to a carefully selected base cheese and create your own fondue mix to enjoy with us. A selection of accompaniments will be available to dip in your fondue: sourdough bread, boiled potatoes, gherkins and cured meats.
You'll be given a recipe card to take away with room to make your own notes. The cheesemongers will be available throughout the session to assist you with cutting cheese and cooking your fondue. Attendees will be offered a 10% discount to use in our shops or in our online shop valid for one month.
This tasting is designed to serve as a fondue meal with accompaniments. There will be samples of 2 wines and a beer provided to give you an introduction to pairing cheese and beverages. As alcohol is served, all attendees must be over 18 years of age.
Nick has been with Neal's Yard Dairy since 2016 and has worked at our maturing arches, with our e-commerce team and as a cheesemonger in our shops. This year he has been leading our Fondue Night classes along with being a regular speaker for both our public and private classes. He has spent many hours on the road visiting our farmhouse cheese makers around the county, whilst making cheese himself. Driven by his passion for diversity, which transcends our cheese and cheese makers, Nick enjoys exploring and enriching the taste experience by creating combinations with produce, wines and beers.Print this page
