A lively orange wine made with Viura grapes by Janire Moraza and Patricio Brongo. It is smooth and easy to enjoy: expect notes of lemon verbena and tomato leaf on the nose, followed by a heart of oak and angostura bark.

Rioja "4 Caminos” Orange 2023

Produced by Bodegas Moraza in Rioja, Spain

The concrete winery of Bodegas Moraza was built in 1983 and has been in the Moraza family for six generations. When Janire Moraza came to take it on, she convinced her father and uncle to convert their 18 hectares of land to organic farming techniques, in order to preserve biodiversity and get the most out of local Rioja vines.

At the foot of the Cantabria and Toloño mountain ranges, the wines ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. It is left unfiltered, and bottling takes place using the gravity method instead of pumping. The vines that produce the grapes for this particular wine are 35 years old, and so reflect the subtle complexities of the terroir perfectly.
