Neal’s Yard Dairy are on a mission to remind people to ‘Eat Them or Lose Them’ when it comes to British territorial cheeses and our Wensleydale focus is part of this wider campaign.

This selection invites you to taste the three Wensleydales that we sell: Whin Yeats, Yoredale and Stonebeck and wash them down with a bottle of Running Porter brewed by The Kernel Brewery to complement territorial cheeses. The combination is fantastic.

Rather than fixating on what Wensleydale should be, these new cheesemakers are embracing what Wensleydale can be. They’re bringing creativity, care, and individuality back into a cheese that has become, for many, a supermarket cliché. They’re not just reviving an old style; they’re building something living, personal, and future-facing.

Wensleydale: Past, Present & Future

If you'd like to learn more about the Wensleydale revival and these three special cheeses, join us on Tuesday 29th July at 7.30pm for the virtual premiere of a new short film exploring the revival of farmhouse Wensleydale, followed by a live Q&A with the cheesemakers leading its transformation. Choose Friday 25th or Saturday 26th July at the checkout to ensure that your cheese arrives with you in good time to eat it alongside the screening.

The Wensleydale Selection with Running Porter

Brown Bread Crackers

Wholemeal Wheat Flour (58%), Buttermilk (25%), Butter (16%), Sea Salt

These crackers are made with four traditional Irish ingredients, including buttermilk, to impart the distinctive Irish Brown Bread taste. At Sheridans the ingredients are strikingly simple and sourced in close proximity to the bakery itself. They use flour stone-ground at Macroom Oatmeal Mills, butter from Bandon Co-op and buttermilk produced by the Cronin family from Belgooly; all in County Cork.
