City Harvest

For this year we're supporting City Harvest. City Harvest distributes businesses' surplus food to charities who can turn it into free meals for those who need them in London and beyond. They take quality, nutritious, edible surplus waste and redistribute it to those facing food poverty. Every month, City Harvest delivers food to 350+ charities who create over 1 million free meals.

We started donating food to City Harvest last year and have been impressed by their commitment to addressing food waste and in doing so, inequality and isolation. While we are mindful of not generating food waste at Neal's Yard Dairy, we work with lots of fresh products and at times we inevitably end up with high quality food that we can't sell. Having City Harvest as an outlet for this food allows us to be more sustainable and means that we can share our amazing ingredients with others.

We'll be volunteering with City Harvest to learn more about the work that they do and to see where the money generated from the Community Cheese of the Month box goes to. We're excited to partner with them and to support their amazing work.
